But we never thought that one day would change ours forever.
love at first sight
Take two Mancunian guys. Ordinary blokes, mid-20’s. Interior designers in the city they loved.
Well, that was us 10 years ago.
But when we’re not working, we love walking.
One day, spending a long weekend in a part of North Devon we’d not visited before, we came across a small coastal village and, well, we just fell head over heels for the place.
Woolacombe Beach. Wow. Breathtaking views, a surfers delight and the natural beauty of North Devon.
What wasn’t to like?

Both keen foodies, we found a small place to eat on our last night. Gorgeous seafood on the edge of the ocean - a perfect evening to end our walking trip.
But then something happened which was to completely change our lives.

When settling the bill, the owner told us it was their last weeks in Woolacombe; they were selling up and retiring.
Driving home later, we couldn’t get the place out of our minds.
What if? We loved our design jobs, but we’d been thinking about a change. What if it this was it?

Fast forward 10 years. And the love we accidentally found for Woolacombe on that short weekend has grown into Seaside View - our shellfish restaurant so close to the sea, it feels like you’re dining on the beach.
We wanted to design a perfect night
for you, our guests to remember. How could we delight those who came to dine with us?
We threw out the net to find a Michelin-starred chef who shared our vision. When we met Craig, we knew we’d found the guy who’d bring pure magic to our menus.
Next, we put our interior design heads on literally to turn the tables in the dining room to give all guests a stunning sea view.
This ship was ready to sail
